Starting and ending a session leads with the time, and says what it does
The sheet you use to start or end a session put the running total in the biggest type and the actual time in small type between two arrows, so the number you were changing was not the number you could read. The time leads now, with the worked total underneath it as the consequence, and the nudge moves in five minutes rather than fifteen so you can land on when something really happened. The named answers — Now, the booked start, the booked end — are a list you tap instead of a row of buttons that wrapped. Starting a session now also tells you what it is about to do, worked out from the time you picked, the way ending one already did. And setting an exact time anywhere in a session now uses the same date and time controls as booking one, instead of a different-looking pair that did the same job.

A session on your phone reads like a record, not a cramped page
Opening a session on your phone gave you the desktop page squeezed down, with a bar of buttons pinned over the top of everything. It now opens as a sheet you can flick back down: the client at the top with their picture over their name, and whatever you can do right now — start it, end it, bill it — as big tiles you can reach with a thumb, rather than a bar sitting on top of the session log. When, who is on, and what gear is in are rows you tap to change. The money splits in two where it used to be one list, so what the client owes you and what actually reaches your account are no longer added up together.

Day is one screen now, with the day summed up in a line
Day used to be two screens behind an Agenda / Hours switch, and the Agenda was the same sessions you were already looking at, just sorted differently. There is one Day now: your rooms and hours, with a line across the top that tells you the day in a sentence — who is on and where, what is ready to bill, anything that needs a decision, and what is next. Rooms sitting empty for the rest of today show up beside it, and you can book straight into one. History has gone with it; you page back through the days themselves.

The rota is back, and it lives in the Schedule now
Your week can be read two ways. Above the calendar there is a new Rooms / People switch: Rooms is the board you already had, and People is the rota — the same seven days and the same bookings, drawn against your crew instead of your rooms. It is the only view that can show you someone with an empty week, a night nobody is on, or that one engineer is down for fifty-five hours, and you can still place and pull shifts straight on the grid. It used to live under Team, and had been switched off for a few days; it is back on, in the same place you book the work. Old links to the rota still work and land you in the right week. Team keeps timesheets.

Your client list is worth opening on a phone now
On a phone the client list was the desktop table with most of it hidden, so a row came down to a name, a dash and an arrow. Every row now says something: how many sessions they have had or who they are billed to, what they have paid you over the years, when they were last in, their tags, and a red note when an invoice of theirs is late. Tapping someone brings their record up from the bottom of the screen as a sheet you can flick back down, rather than a narrow panel sliding in from the side — and that record only shows an outstanding figure when there is one, in red only when it is genuinely past due rather than the moment an invoice goes unpaid.

The slim sidebar holds still while a menu is open on it
When the sidebar sits slim and widens as you point at it, opening your account menu made it flinch — the sidebar narrowed back under its own open menu, and the menu jumped with it. It now stays wide the whole time a menu is open on it, whether that is your account, the bell, or your clock, and only slims back once you have closed the menu and moved away.

You can put the whole crew on a session while you book it
Booking a session only ever let you name an engineer, so anyone else working it — an assistant, a producer, a host, a runner — had to be added afterwards on the session itself. The engineer row is now a Crew row that holds all five. Tap a name and they take the top open seat, so booking one person for one session is the same single tap it always was; tap another name and they take the next seat down. Once someone is on, their seat shows beside them and you can tap it to change it — if you hand someone a seat another person is already in, the two of them swap rather than one falling off. Picking crew also works exactly like picking a client now: the same search box and the same list of names, instead of the row of buttons it used to be.

One plan instead of two, and five things came out of the app
There were two plans; there is one now — $149 a month for your whole team, as many rooms as you have and as many sessions as fit, with no per-seat charges and no per-booking limits. The old $299 tier was mostly selling five things that either are not built yet or are not part of the product we want to stand behind, so rather than leave them sitting behind a price they have come out of the app for now: the staff rota, timesheets, the financial reports, the client portal and its requests inbox, and the activity log. In practice that means Requests, Hours and Reports have left the sidebar, and the rota says plainly that it is not ready — which is the honest version of what was already true. Nothing about your bill changes: if you are already paying, you keep the plan and the price you signed up on. The five are listed on our pricing page under “In the works”, with no price and nothing to buy, and each one moves up into the plan on the day it actually works.

Pull the invoice list down to reload it
Money moves while you are looking at the page — a client pays, a session finishes and becomes billable — and on a phone there was no way to ask for the latest short of leaving and coming back. Drag the list down from the top and let go, the way you would refresh any feed on your phone, and it fetches again. The dial spins until the new figures are actually on screen.

Booking a session on your phone takes four taps
New session on a phone was a desktop form squeezed onto a small screen: every picker opened a menu that flipped up over the fields you had just filled in, and the button that actually books sat below the fold. It is a proper sheet now. Book sits in the bar at the top where you can always reach it, your rooms are buttons you tap once, and the day, start time and length live together on one screen instead of three. Opening it no longer brings the keyboard up over everything.

The invoice list on your phone says what each row is, and stops shouting over the amounts
Every row now opens with its own state in plain words — “Not billed · 3 sessions”, “Due Aug 11”, “Paid Jul 10” — instead of a status tag repeated down the right-hand side that said the same thing on every line. Coloured tags are kept for the two that mean something needs you: past due and part-paid. Client initials are a quiet grey tile rather than a bright square, so the amounts are the loudest thing on the screen again, and the paragraph explaining each tab now appears only when that tab is empty, which gives you two more rows on every visit. The button for hiding money on screen has moved into the ⋯ menu, where it says what it does, and that menu now sits beside Filters instead of at the end of the tabs, where it looked like a way to see more tabs. The running total under the tabs says “Showing 15 · $34,400.25”, so it can’t be mistaken for the unbilled figure beside the page title — they answer different questions.

See this year against last year, and report by day or by week
Every bar on the trend now has last year drawn behind it in a paler shade, so you can see at a glance where you beat the same month a year ago and where you slipped — pick a bar and it tells you the change as a percentage. It only appears once you have a year of history behind you, so a studio that started in the spring gets a clean chart instead of a row of empty bars. Day and Week have also joined Month, Quarter and Year in the timeframe picker: Day shows the last 30 days, Week the last 13 weeks running Sunday to Saturday, the same week your rota uses.

A QR code for your join code, and it stays covered until you ask
Your studio’s join code now has a QR code beside it, so a new engineer can point a phone at your screen instead of typing eight characters. Both the code and the QR stay hidden until you tap Show — handy when you are sharing your screen on a call or sending a screenshot to support, since anyone who can read either one can put themselves on your studio. Copy still works while it is covered. Resetting the code hides it again.

The Team page reads more like a roster
Your people now come first on the page, with the join code moved below them, and the rows are tighter so a ten-person studio fits on one screen. What each person can see reads more clearly too: money and client access are the same kind of tag whether they are on or off, so a studio where nobody has been granted anything no longer looks broken. The list of alerts already sent has folded away behind a summary line that tells you how many went out, when the last one was, and how many did not reach anyone. One correction: the last column was labelled “Last active” but has only ever shown when someone last signed in, so it now says “Last sign-in” — someone who stays signed in for weeks was being shown as though they had stopped using StudioSide.

Put StudioSide on your phone’s home screen
On a phone, a small card now offers to add StudioSide to your home screen — it opens full screen, with no browser bar and no hunting for the tab. On Android that’s one button. On iPhone, where Apple won’t let any website install itself, it dims the page and points at the exact button to press, naming it correctly for Safari or Chrome. That’s also what turns alerts on: an iPhone can only buzz you about a session if the app is on the home screen, so Settings → Alerts now offers the same walkthrough instead of just telling you it can’t. It waits until your second visit, and “Not now” puts it away for a month.

The schedule reads like a calendar, and there are three places to be instead of six
The top bar used to hold Day, Week and Month plus a second row of unlabelled icons that split Day into two and Month into two — six screens you had to name with two clicks. It is Day, Week and Month now, and Day carries its two readings on one labelled switch: Agenda for what the day needs from you, Hours for the room-by-room grid. The calendar itself got much quieter. The heavy grid lines are gone, hours sit centred on their own lines, the current time shows as a red tag in the margin, and today is marked in red everywhere instead of black in some places and red in others. Room columns now say how much of the day is booked — “1 session · 11h” — or just “Open”. The week and the month finally use the same lettering. A session that runs past midnight no longer pretends to end there: it squares off at the day boundary and names the day its other end falls on, so a 1pm–4am mastering session reads the same on both nights. The day view also stopped ending in a grid of room cards and an empty “on the floor” box — what is still free is one line under the heading instead, and a day with nothing on it just offers you one New session button. Pinning a view moved off the top bar to the sidebar’s Pinned list, which now has a + that saves whatever you are looking at.

More of the night fits on screen, and the top bar stops moving around
Live session cards are about half the height they were, so three rooms running at once no longer fill the screen twice over and push the rest of the night below the fold — on a wide screen three of them sit side by side. Sessions that were never closed out have come off the top of the board: they are a small button beside the day’s title now, and it opens over the board instead of pushing everything down while you work through them. The top bar also keeps the same shape on every view — the Board/Rooms and Grid/Agenda switches have moved back into it beside Day, Week and Month, and History’s date range sits up there too instead of down on the page, so nothing jumps as you move between views.

The board lists your sessions, and you can look back over any stretch of days
The day board used to show one card per room, so a room with three bookings only showed one of them and a free room got a card with nothing on it. Every session is its own row now, grouped by what it needs from you: tonight reads what’s coming up then what has wrapped, and a night that’s over splits into what needs a decision, what finished, and what never happened. Each group folds away and carries its count. Underneath, every room says whether it’s free and until when before you book it, so you can’t put a session on top of one that’s already running. There’s also a new History tab for looking back — pick the last 7, 30 or 90 days, this month, last month, or any two dates.

Requests answers the question instead of drawing your day
The requests page used to hand you a calendar and leave you to work out whether the room was free. It now tells you: either the room they asked for is open, and there is one button to book it, or it is taken and you get a short list of what you could give them instead — the same hours in another room, or the same room a few hours over — each one labelled with what the client gives up, and flagged if nobody is rostered to cover it. Requests arrive one at a time, longest wait first, and Skip sends one to the back without deciding.

Turn the client portal off if you don’t want it
If you take your bookings by phone and text, you can now switch the client portal off in Settings → Client portal. Your clients stop being able to sign in or ask for time, and Requests leaves the sidebar. Nothing is deleted — any requests you’d already received are waiting for you if you turn it back on.

Someone you invite gets one email, not two
Inviting a new person used to send them two emails at once — ours naming you and the studio, and a second generic one from behind the scenes — both leading to the same place, so they had to guess which was real. Only the first one goes out now.

A session panel no longer jumps when you grab it on the way in
On a phone, opening a session and immediately pulling it back down made the panel snap to the top of the screen before it started following your thumb. It now picks up wherever it happens to be and moves with your finger from there, so a quick open-and-dismiss feels like one movement instead of a lurch.

The tab bar answers the moment you tap it
Tapping Schedule, Invoices, Clients or your own face used to leave the old tab lit until the new page had finished loading — on a slow connection that reads as a missed tap, so you press it again. The tab you pressed now fills in immediately and the page arrives after it, which is how every other app on your phone behaves.

Loading screens match the page that follows them
The grey placeholder screens had fallen behind the pages they stand in for, so a page would appear and then visibly rearrange itself — the invoice list drew five columns and landed with eight, the phone list forgot it is grouped by month, and your own page was missing a row. They now match, so a page that takes a moment fills in where it was rather than jumping.

Download PDF works again
Downloading an invoice or a paid receipt as a PDF had stopped working — the button did nothing, wherever you pressed it, and the copy your client could download from their invoice link failed the same way. It works again, on every invoice.

Switching between the hours and the floor left the schedule fighting your thumb: the ruled day would stick partway through a scroll, and the floor list would refuse to move at all. Both scroll normally now, and pulling down to reload still works where it always did.

Invite someone with their phone number
You can now put a phone number in the invite box instead of an email — useful for the engineer whose number is in your phone and whose email you have never asked for. StudioSide does not send the text; it writes the message and hands it to your own Messages app, so it arrives from a number they recognise.

The invite page now offers Continue with Google above the sign-up form, which matters most on a phone where inventing a password with your thumbs is the slowest part. Email and password still work exactly as before for anyone who prefers it, and a phone invite fills their number in for them.

"To bill" is now called "Unbilled"
The tab, the figure under the Invoices title, and the tag on a finished session all used to say "To bill" — the odd one out beside Scheduled, Open, Past due and Paid, which all describe what has happened rather than what you should do. They now say Unbilled, and a finished session that used to read "Ready to bill" on the Schedule and in its detail panel says Unbilled too. Nothing moved and nothing changed about which work lands where; the buttons still carry the verb — Bill all ready, and Review & send invoice on a session.

A sent invoice now opens the same way a draft does
Opening an invoice you have already sent shows the invoice itself — the same page the client is looking at — with one dark bar above it carrying the number, the status, and the one thing worth doing next: Send reminder when it is late, Record payment while you are waiting, Download PDF once it is paid. The column of cards that used to sit beside it is gone; it repeated the total, the paid date and the method that are already printed on the invoice. What is left underneath is the session it was billed from, one click from the invoice.

Search is back in the sidebar, and the sidebar is quieter
Search has its own row near the top of the sidebar again — click it or press ⌘K, and results open in a panel beside the sidebar rather than over the middle of the screen, so the page you were on stays in view. The sidebar also gave up three rows: notifications are now the bell beside New session, Studio settings moved into the menu under your name, and Booking requests only appears if your studio uses the client portal. You can fold the Records, Pinned and Recent groups away by clicking their headings, and the app remembers which ones you closed.

Swipe a panel down to close it
Every panel that slides up from the bottom of your phone — session details, invoice filters, the ⋯ menus, the pickers for crew and gear — now closes with a downward swipe, not just the ✕. Swipe from the top bar, or from anywhere in the panel while it is scrolled to the top; a short pull is enough, and a quick flick works too. Tapping a session in the Schedule opens it as one of these sheets too, so your day stays visible behind it and you can throw it away with your thumb.

The Schedule icon carries today’s date, and the date now has room to breathe — the calendar’s header is a thin strip across the top instead of a thick bar through the middle, so the number sits bigger and clearer at a glance. Deal with it from the bell, without leaving the page
Notifications now read as plain sentences — “Rhea Kalu in Studio A has no engineer — starts in 45m” — and the ones you can act on, you can finish right there. Put someone on an unstaffed session in one tap when an engineer is free for those exact hours and has run that client before, or slide over to the full list to pick anyone else. A session that ran past its end can be closed at its booked end time, with ten seconds to undo, and a flagged issue can be cleared from the bell instead of walking you to the session first. Buttons that only took you somewhere the row already went are gone.

The draft editor used to be the desktop paper squeezed onto a small screen — tiny inputs everywhere and Send up at the top. Pulling the phone schedule down to reload it works properly now
The spinner that tells you a reload is happening was hidden behind the page, and on the hour-by-hour day the pull took over the scroll once you reached midnight. It shows properly now, and the gesture belongs to the day feed and the month — the two screens that read like a list. Rhodey has his own door, and he can see the page you are on
Rhodey used to be reachable only by opening search and scrolling past every result, so most people never found him. He now sits in the rail next to Settings, opens with ⌘/, and has a row on your own page on a phone. He also knows what you are looking at: stand on a client and ask "when are they next in?" without naming them, and he will answer — and the shortcuts he offers change to suit, so on a client you get their next booking, what they owe, and book them again.

The ⌘K box in the rail said "Quick actions" but was really the fastest way to find any client, session, invoice, room or piece of gear. It is now labelled Search. Swipe an invoice on your phone, and late ones stand out
Swipe a row left to get straight at what you would do next: Remind and Mark paid on anything owed, Review and Bill on work you have not billed yet. Paid invoices do not swipe, because there is nothing left to do to them, and "Don't bill" is not on a swipe either — it waives money, so it stays in the ⋯ menu where it takes a deliberate tap. Anything past due now carries a red line down its left edge, so the invoices actually costing you money are findable while scrolling instead of being one coloured label among several.

A quieter tab bar on your phone
The five buttons along the bottom of your phone have dropped their labels — the icons say the same thing in half the room, and the one you are on fills in solid black while the rest sit back as thin grey outlines. The bar is plain white now instead of see-through, so it stops picking up the colour of whatever you are scrolling past.

The Schedule on your phone is a real calendar
Your phone now has two screens instead of a row of view buttons: a month, and a day. The month writes the bookings into every square rather than shading the busy ones, so you can read a whole month without tapping anything. Tap a day to open it; the arrow at the top left takes you back up. The day itself reads two ways, swapped with the button beside search: as ruled hours, where each session is as tall as it is long and rooms running at the same time sit side by side — the quickest way to see where you still have room — or as the Floor, the running list you already know, with the red now line and the live session’s progress bar. Swipe sideways to move a day or a month, drag the row of dates to change weeks, and tap an empty hour to book it. Today always brings you back to now. Week has been dropped from the phone, because the month now says everything it used to.

The invoices list reads properly on a phone
Every invoice now lines up down the page: the client leads the row, the amount sits on the right where all the amounts end together, and each row is the same height so the list stops looking jittery as you scroll. The tabs, the filter button and the running "12 items · $28,496" total stay pinned to the top while you scroll, so you can change what you are looking at without scrolling back up. Filtering is one Filters button that opens a panel from the bottom of the screen instead of a row of small chips you had to scroll sideways to reach — and whatever you filtered by shows underneath, so you can see why a list is short. The page also stops looking like a different product on a phone: it uses the same tabs as the desktop, and colour is now saved for what needs your attention, so a past-due invoice stands out instead of competing with a screenful of coloured labels.

Pages stop flickering while they load
Opening the Schedule on a phone used to flash two or three different half-drawn screens before the day appeared — including a desktop calendar grid a phone never shows. Now every page draws one placeholder in the shape of the page you actually asked for, and it holds steady until the real thing arrives. Reports, Requests, Team, the rota and your own page used to just sit on the previous screen with nothing happening; they now respond the moment you click. Pages that load quickly show no placeholder at all, so a fast page no longer blinks at you.

You can delete a studio yourself
Deleting a studio used to mean emailing us and waiting. The owner can now do it in Settings → Studio: type the studio's name and it goes, along with its sessions, clients, invoices, shifts and team — there is no undo. Your subscription is not cancelled by this; it keeps billing until you cancel it in Manage billing, and until then it can start your next studio.

One way to set where your studio is
Address, country and time zone were asked differently on every screen that asked for them. Now it's one field everywhere — sign-up, opening a second studio, and Settings — with a map of the spot you picked so you can see the pin landed on your building. It shows the time zone it worked out from your address and lets you correct it right there, instead of hiding it on another page.

Someone on the clock right now shows up in Hours
If a person clocked in without being on the rota, the hours report listed them under “not scheduled this week” and drew no row — even while the banner at the top said they were on the clock. They now get a row like everyone else, with the day they are working outlined rather than filled, because those hours are still running and there is no total to show yet.

Hours now shows when someone clocked out from somewhere else
If your studio records locations, the hours report already told you where a shift was started. It now tells you where it was ended too, and says so only when that was away from the studio — so someone clocking out from home on the drive back is something you can see rather than something you have to guess. Clocking out is never blocked, whatever your setting: nobody should be left on the clock with no way to stop it.

A weak phone signal no longer stops someone clocking in
If you require staff to be at the studio to clock in, the check now allows for how far off the phone says its own reading might be — so a vague fix indoors doesn’t turn away someone standing in the live room. Anyone genuinely down the road is still refused, and the hours report still shows the real distance.

Invoices is one list you can sort, filter and search
The invoices page used to be several different lists stacked on one screen, each with its own shape. It is now a single table: work you have not billed yet sits alongside what you have sent, what is late and what has been paid, and you can narrow it by client, amount, or when something was created or came due. Choose which columns you want, export what you are looking at, and the total under the table always matches the rows on screen. The amount still waiting to be billed sits under the page title.

A session left running now says the same thing everywhere
A session someone started and never ended used to be named something different on every screen — the floor plan called it “Live”, which showed a room as busy when nobody was in it. It now reads “Needs end time” wherever you see it, so a session that is genuinely on air is easy to tell from one that just needs closing out. On a phone that card was also drawing pale text on a pale background; it is readable again.

Every week in StudioSide now runs Sunday to Saturday
The rota already ran Sunday to Saturday, but the Hours page ran Monday to Sunday — so a Sunday night sat in one pay week on the rota and a different one on the payroll. They are the same seven days now, on the rota, on Hours, on your own week, and on the “this week” figure in your money. If you settle hours weekly, check the week either side of this change so nothing gets paid twice or missed.

A dead invoice link no longer shows your client an error page
If a client opened a pay link that had expired or been replaced, they got a bare browser error with your studio nowhere on it. They now get a plain page saying the link is out of date, to ask you for a current one, and that nothing is owed or overdue because of it. Same for an expired session link.

An overtime session counts as one session, not two
A session that ran past its booked end is written as two charges — the booked time and the overtime — and the invoice was counting those as two separate sessions. A one-session invoice could say “2 sessions”. It now counts the nights you worked, not the lines on the page.

Build next week’s rota by copying a recent one
The rota has a “Copy last week” button that brings the shifts you placed by hand onto the week you’re looking at, same days and same times. It shows you what it will do first, and leaves out anything that would be wrong — a day that has already been, someone who booked that day off, or a shift they are already on — so pressing it twice is safe. Engineers aren’t copied, because their shifts follow their bookings. One click to undo the lot.

Your alerts page now names everything we send you
Being offered a session, someone picking up your cover request, and a coworker @mentioning you in a session note all buzz your phone and email you — but Settings → Account only listed five other alerts, so there was no way to know. Nothing changed about what we send; the page now names all eight, and a reminder in your notification history reads as “Session reminder” instead of just “Notification”.

Settings → Studio has a new “Export everything” button. One click gives you a zip of spreadsheets — clients, sessions, invoices, payments, hours, gear and the rest — that opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. An invoice for a label-billed artist now goes to the label
If you have set a client to be billed to someone else — their label, their management — that only stuck when you made the invoice from the client dialog. Billing a finished session, which is how most invoices get made, addressed it to the artist instead, so it went out in the wrong name and often to the wrong inbox. Every way of making an invoice now uses the payer you set. Duplicating an invoice keeps the payer of the one you copied.

An overnight session says which day it started
A booking that began the night before sat at the top of today’s list with nothing but a start time on it, so a 10 PM start read as if it were still to come this evening. It now carries the date it actually began beside the time, says it has been running since yesterday, and its end time names the day it lands on — so a session that runs through the night reads forwards instead of backwards.

Your invoices now take Amazon Pay too
Amazon Pay sits on your pay page alongside card, Apple Pay, bank transfer and Cash App, and settles the invoice by itself the same way the others do. It costs you the same as a card. Two rooms running at once no longer show the time twice
A session in progress used to draw a red line with the time on it straight across its card on the phone’s day list. With two rooms live that meant two clocks, both reading the same minute, sitting at different heights down the page. Each live card now carries the same start-to-end bar the Floor and the session page already use, filled to how far in it is — one bar per room, however many are running.

The bar at the bottom of your phone shows today’s date
The Schedule button now has the date written inside its calendar, so a glance at the bottom of the screen tells you what day it is. The bar itself sits flat against the bottom edge instead of floating, the icon you are on fills in solid rather than lighting up a coloured bubble, and a live room shows as a red dot on Schedule instead of a number — the board one tap away already names every room that is on.

Invoices, Gear and client profiles sit on white
These three pages sat on a faint grey that was only a shade off the white cards resting on it — close enough that the lists read as washed out instead of as clean rows. They are plain white now, so the ruled tables stand on their own and the things you are looking for in them, like an overdue invoice or a piece of gear that is down, are easier to pick out at a glance. On a client profile the month headings down the history now actually show up; before they were grey on grey.

Typing a house number into your studio address used to bring back postcodes in France, Spain and Malaysia alongside the one street you were actually looking for. Clients can pay with Cash App, and the Paid list says so
Your invoices now take Cash App alongside card, Apple Pay and bank transfer, and a Cash App payment settles the invoice by itself the same way a card does. Because you can also collect Cash App yourself and mark it paid by hand, the Paid list now tells the two apart: one reads “Cash App · online”, the one you banked yourself just reads “Cash App”. The line on your invoice about how to pay is also written from what your pay page actually offers, so it can no longer promise something that isn’t there.

On a phone these pages were wider than the screen. Reports and Hours slid sideways under your thumb, and Clients and the invoice you are about to send had their right edge cut clean off — the New client button, the invoice total and the Send button were simply unreachable. A team invite now only works for the person you sent it to
An invite link could be used by whoever opened it, so a forwarded email or one pasted into a group chat could put the wrong person on your team — with whatever role you meant for someone else. An invite is now tied to the email address you sent it to, and anyone else who opens it is turned away. If you need to invite someone at a different address, send them a new invite.

Swipe between days on your phone
The schedule on a phone now works the way a phone calendar should: swipe sideways to go to the next day or the last one, the same step the arrows beside the date make. It also stops sliding around — session cards used to run off the right edge and drag the whole day with them, so a long client name pushed the time you were looking for off the screen. Engineers finally have planned hours
Hours only ever measured people against shifts someone typed in by hand, so an engineer who works nothing but sessions read as 0 planned and every punch they made looked unscheduled. The sessions they are booked on now count as what they were down to work, and a clock-in lands on the session it was for. On Sessions Atlanta that took the week from 4 minutes logged against 16 hours planned to 15h 43m against 57h, and three engineers who had no plan at all now have one.

Card payments now cost exactly what Stripe charges, and bank transfer is 1%
We used to keep a flat 5% of every payment. That is gone. Card payments are now billed at 2.9% + 30¢ — Stripe’s own published rate, passed straight through with nothing added, so a card costs you the same here as anywhere else. Bank transfer is 1% and never more than $100 however large the invoice, which makes it the cheaper rail to point your regulars at. Collect the money yourself and there is still no fee at all. Nothing changes for your clients: they pay the invoice total as written, and we never add a surcharge at checkout.

Asking someone to take a session now reaches them by email too
When you asked an engineer to cover something, the only way they heard about it was a notification on their phone — and those only arrive if they have added StudioSide to their home screen. So an ask could go out to your whole team and be seen by nobody, while your notifications page said it had been sent. Asks now go by email as well, and the email opens straight to the page where they say yes or pass.

The phone schedule now moves with your thumb — swipe left for the next day, right for the one before, the way every phone calendar works. It follows whichever view you are in, so the same swipe steps a week in Week and a month in Month. Your team can ask for cover when they can't make a session
Until now only you could ask someone to take a session, and only one that had nobody on it. Anyone on your team can open their own page, find a session they are booked on and tap Ask for cover — everyone free that day gets asked, and the first to say yes takes it. A bill nobody can pay doesn't go out
If your studio has no card payments set up and nothing written down about how else to pay you, sending an invoice used to work anyway — your client got a bill with nothing to act on, and you only found out afterwards. Sending now waits while you pick one: turn on card payments without leaving StudioSide, or write down your Zelle, bank or cash details. You only do it once, and there's still a way past it for a session you've already been paid for in cash.

Rooms you add while setting up arrive with their rate
A room created during studio setup kept its price in the wrong place, so Settings → Rooms called it "Not bookable yet" even though you had typed a rate — and its first invoice could come out at $0. Those rooms now carry a proper rate from the moment they exist. Setup also asks whether each rate is per hour or a flat rate, so a lockout room is no longer recorded as an hourly one.

Everyone on a session shows up on the session
The session panel lists every person on the booking — engineer, assistant, producer, host, runner — instead of only your own engineer, so an outside engineer no longer makes a session look empty. The calendar says which role a session is missing
A session where the client brings their own engineer used to show that engineer's name in your staffing slot, as if the room were half-covered. It is not — an outside engineer works for the artist, not for you. Those sessions now show an open chair like any other, and the calendar names what you actually need to go find: "Needs assistant" when the client has an engineer, "Needs engineer" when nobody is on it. A session with one of your assistants but no engineer at all now says "No engineer" too.

Your studio has a join code you can just read out
Getting someone onto the team used to mean emailing them a link and hoping they found it. Your Team page now shows a short code — you tell a new engineer to go to the join page and type it, and they are on. Anyone who uses it joins as a member; a manager seat still needs a proper invite. Reset the code any time and the old one stops working.

Session reports generate themselves
Any session that actually ran now has a Download report button on it, and what comes out is built from what the app already recorded — room, artist, song, writers, drive, crew, gear, booked time against real time. It also carries the part that used to get typed up from memory the next morning: who clocked in and out, to the minute. Nothing is a form you fill in, so nothing carries last session's answer forward. There is no money on it — the invoice is still the document for that.

Hours is now a week you finish, not a page you read
Hours used to show everyone at equal weight, so the days that actually needed you looked the same as the days that were fine. It now opens with the only question it cannot answer on its own: somebody was down to work, the shift is over, and nobody clocked in — did they work it or not come in? Answer each one and the page tells you the week is agreed. Everyone whose week already adds up folds into a Settled list, still with their seven days at a glance, and time worked with no shift behind it is called out instead of hiding.

You can enter hours for someone who forgot to clock in
When somebody worked a shift and never punched, there was nothing you could do about it — the hours were simply missing and stayed missing. You can now add them yourself from Hours, prefilled with the times the shift was down for, and the entry records that you were the one who put it in rather than pretending they clocked in themselves. If they genuinely did not come in, you mark the day instead, which is kept as a fact about that week and does not touch the rota.

The Invoices count says how many are open, not how many are late
The Invoices item in the sidebar used to shout in red about one overdue invoice while saying nothing about the other unpaid ones. It now shows a quiet count of every invoice still open — sent and not paid yet, late or not — and the Open tab on the Invoices page shows that same number. Which of them are late is still spelled out on the row itself.

You can ask staff to be at the studio when they clock in
Settings → Hours has a new Clocking in panel. Stand in your studio, tap "Use my location" to set the point, pick how close counts as being there, and choose whether the app records a location on each clock-in or requires one. Recording is the safe setting: a punch from outside the radius is marked for you to review, never blocked, and a phone that cannot get a fix does not make anyone look guilty. Requiring it does turn people away, so it says so before you switch it on. Staff are told what is being recorded before their phone asks, and they can clock in without it on the recording setting.

Corrected hours say who changed them, and the roster shows everyone
When a manager fixes a punch — a forgotten clock-out, a wrong start — the shift now carries a line saying who changed it and what it used to say, wherever it is read, including on the staff member’s own page. A manager correcting their own shift is marked as exactly that. The roster also lists every active member now, not just the people with hours that week, so someone who was rostered and never turned up is on the page instead of missing from it.

Your own page tells you when you are next in, and what you clocked
Open "My week" from your photo at the bottom of the sidebar and the first thing you read is the answer: "Tomorrow, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM", or "In 3 days", or that you are on right now until half ten. Every day of the week now says the same thing — whether you are on, and from when. Your own hours sit under each day too: what you clocked, and a plain line saying so when a manager has corrected one of your days. The studio-wide hours report is a separate, manager page under Team.

Hours was calling any shift without a clock-in a no-show, including shifts still to come — so on a Tuesday, someone rostered for Thursday read as having already missed it. Reports has a Clients view
A fourth view, answering the things a single month can't. Who's carrying the studio: the share of the last twelve months riding on your biggest client, and on your top five — if one client is more than a third of your year, it says so. Who's gone quiet: clients who paid you this year but haven't been in for two months, ranked by what they paid, so the call worth making is at the top. And whether the people you invoiced this month came back or came in for the first time.

Reports answers three questions, and Performance has folded into it
Reports now has three views. Money is the one you already had — what came in, who owes you, where it came from. Work answers how much actually ran: sessions booked with their hours, and a plain tally of what ran clean, what nobody turned up for, and what was never marked. Rooms shows how much of your open time sold, room by room, with the money each room took in beside it — something the old Performance page could never do. Performance itself is gone; those numbers live here now, next to the money they earned. You can also set up costs that repeat: add rent or power once and every month Reports asks you to confirm it rather than logging it for you, so your profit only ever counts money you said went out.

Net deposited was reading low on card payments
On Financials, the Net deposited figure was subtracting the card processing fee a second time, so it showed roughly 3% less than what actually reached your bank. Your money was never affected — only the number on the page. It now matches your deposit: the invoice total minus the 5% StudioSide fee, and nothing else.

There was a setting to pass card processing costs on to your clients, from back when you were the one paying them. You are not: StudioSide handles the payment and covers processing out of its 5%, so a client paying by card and a client paying by bank transfer both cost you exactly the same. Financials is now Reports, and it answers three questions
The money page only ever showed one month, quarter or year, so “are we growing?” was a question it could not answer — and it asked you to read nine boxes of accountant language to find out anything else. It now answers three plain questions in order. Are you making money: one big figure, the last thirteen months as a chart you can step through or click into, and what you kept after costs. Who owes you: what is late, aged from not yet due through 61 days and over, with a link straight to those invoices. Where did it come from: your money cut by kind of work, client or room. What it costs to run and the bookkeeping half — cash versus accrual, every payment, the CSV exports — now sit in two sections that stay shut until you want them. Expenses moved in there too, with a chart of what you spend month to month and a breakdown of what it goes on.

Your team can block time off
Anyone on the team can now say they are unavailable from their own page — a day, or a window inside a day. When you go to assign someone, their time off shows up next to the usual double-booking warning, and seating them anyway takes a second tap so it is never an accident. The Crew rota shows who has booked time off
Time off was invisible on the schedule, so an empty Thursday looked free whether it was free or booked off weeks ago. Days someone has taken off are now struck out on the Week Crew lens and say "Off" — or "Off 9 AM–5 PM" for part of a day — and the week counts them alongside your shifts and open slots. It is still only a warning: you can put someone on an off day, and if they are already booked into one you will see both.

A finished day looks finished
Looking back at a past day on the Day board, every session was drawn as a clean white card — the same card a booking still ahead of you gets — so a no-show from last week looked like something you could still start or still bill. The day opens on your day
The Day view used to open at 8 AM no matter what, so an evening studio landed on an empty morning and had to scroll to find its own bookings. It now opens framed on whatever is actually on that day, so you can see all of it at once. Drag the time column to zoom as before — it now tells you how many hours you are looking at while you drag, and a Fit button brings the whole day back.

The floor lane says whether the day is covered
Who is on the floor has moved out of its own column and into a band across the top of the Day view, which now compares your floor cover against the day’s bookings and names the gap — "No cover after 7p" — instead of leaving you to spot the hole. Simpler filters

The coloured circle next to a client’s name was a pale wash, so a list of clients read as a row of near-identical grey discs. It is now a solid colour with white initials, everywhere the client appears — the schedule, the floor, invoices and PDFs. Only owners and admins can mark an invoice paid
Recording a payment used to be open to anyone on your team. That meant a runner or an assistant could mark an invoice settled, which takes it off your chase list and stops you asking for money you were never sent. See at a glance who can open your books
Settings → Team now shows a "Can see" column on every person, so you can tell who has money access and who has client access without opening a menu — and the owner grants or revokes either one in a single click. Managers read "By role", because they always see both. Your crew can tell you when they can’t work
There is now a Time off card on the Me page. Anyone blocks a day, a run of days, or a few hours, and it saves straight away — nothing to approve. When you go to assign that session their name still appears, with a quiet line saying they are off, and picking them anyway takes a second tap so it is never an accident. Nobody who has blocked the time gets pinged when you ask everyone to cover. If someone blocks time on a session they are already on, that lands in your notifications so you can fill the hole.

Every row on the phone Open tab now gives the amount a line of its own, so the figure is large enough to read at a glance and Bill is a proper thumb-sized button. The switch that blanks every amount across the app used to live only in the sidebar menu, which a phone never shows — so on a phone there was no way to turn it on. Build the week’s crew from the rota itself
The Crew lens on the week — the people-by-days grid — could only be looked at. You can now build on it: click any empty day next to someone’s name to put them on for a shift, hover a shift you placed to take it off, and click a booking in the "Open shifts" row to pick an engineer for it. The picker ranks who has run that room before and marks anyone already busy at that hour. It also opens straight away now instead of pausing to load.

Paid invoices on your phone, and a search that works
The Paid tab on a phone was the desktop table squeezed onto a small screen: two rows of coloured method chips and a wrapped toolbar sat between you and the first payment. It is now a list grouped by day, with each day showing what you took that day, and one line per payment. The magnifying glass at the top used to do nothing — it is now a real search box on both tabs, and it covers clients, invoice numbers and how someone paid. Type "zelle" to see just the Zelle payments, or a client's name to see everything of theirs at once: what is still to bill, what they owe, and what they have already paid. Exporting a CSV now exports whatever you searched for.

One way to fix a finished session’s time
Editing the time on a session that had already ended reopened the "End session" box, which quietly rewrote the hours you bill — even on an invoice you had already sent or been paid for. It now opens "Fix end time" instead: it keeps the start and end in order, records the old and new time on the session, and refuses once the invoice has gone out. If the session sits on a draft you have not sent, the draft’s hours update with it. And editing what was booked no longer changes what was actually worked.

The schedule on your phone got a lot simpler
The phone used to give you three ways to move through time — a row of arrows, a strip of seven days, and a Board/Grid switch — before you could see a single session. Now there is one: Day, Week or Month, and one row underneath with a back arrow, where you are, and a forward arrow. Day is the feed with the red NOW line, Week is your seven days as a list, Month is the busy-day grid. There is also a search button next to New, so you can find a client, session or invoice from your phone the way ⌘K does on a computer.

Every session now shows who is on it
Sessions on the schedule carry a small circle with the initials of whoever is running them — engineer or assistant, whichever of your team is on it. When nobody is, the circle is empty, so an open session is obvious next to a covered one instead of needing a key to read. An outside engineer shows as a dashed circle with their initials, because a guest is not your coverage. Same circle on the day grid, the week board, the agenda, the Floor and your phone. Yellow now means one thing only: late to start.

Book a session from anywhere
The "New" button moved out of the schedule toolbar and into the sidebar, just above Search, so you can start a booking from any page instead of going to the calendar first. On the schedule it still opens on the day you are looking at, and ⌘K now opens the same form under "New session".

One Week view instead of two
Week used to offer two drawings of the same seven days — a column per day, or your rooms down the side. They showed the same bookings, so the day-column one is gone and the room board is now simply Week. It keeps everything the other had: the “On the floor” lane across the top, the word on a session that’s late or missed, and the blue dot on anything that changed since you last looked. Click any empty square to book that room on that day. A session whose room was deleted now shows in an “Unassigned” row at the bottom instead of quietly vanishing off the week.

Booking requests show you the room’s day before you say yes
A booking request now draws the time the client asked for against that room’s real day, on an hour scale you can actually read — so you can see at a glance that six to ten is free, or exactly who already has the room and until when. The whole review board also uses the full width of your screen now, and reads the same on your phone as it does on your computer.

Ask Rhodey to put someone on a shift
Rhodey can now schedule a staff shift for you — “put Noa on a host shift Monday 11 to 7” — and hands you a Confirm button like every other change it makes. Being the engineer on a session has never stopped someone from also working a host shift over the same hours, and Rhodey now schedules that without argument. It used to refuse and blame a clash that was never real.

The schedule reads at a glance — coloured by client, flagged when something changes
Every session across the schedule — Day, Week, Month and the board, on your computer and your phone — now takes its colour from the client, so you can pick out one artist’s bookings without reading a single name. A live room goes dark, a finished session fades to grey, and one that ran long gets a red outline, so what’s happening now stands apart from what’s done. And a small blue dot marks any session that changed since you last opened it — a new booking, a moved time — so nothing slips past quietly. Opening the session clears its dot.

Fold the “On the floor” lane away when you don’t need it
On the Day and Week calendar, the “On the floor” lane now has a little arrow on its own header — click it to fold the lane down to a thin strip and hand that space to your rooms, click the strip to bring it back. Folded, it still shows how many people are on the floor, so nothing quietly disappears. It stays how you leave it, and it’s no longer buried in the Filters menu.

The sidebar tells you what’s still coming today
The Schedule item in the left sidebar already lit up red with a live count when rooms were recording. Now, when nothing’s live, it shows a quiet “N today” instead — how many sessions are still ahead on the day — so a glance at the rail tells you what’s left without opening the schedule. It winds down as the day does.

Let a trusted engineer see financials
Money stays hidden from engineers and floor staff by default, as before. Now, in Settings → Team, the owner can switch on “Can see financials” for a specific person — so a lead engineer you trust can see rates, invoice totals and client balances without being made a manager. It’s the owner’s call alone, off unless you turn it on, and it grants seeing money only, not any management powers.

See which days are busy at a glance in the date picker
Open the date picker at the top of the Schedule and each day is now shaded by how booked it is — the busier the day, the deeper the blue. The whole month’s rhythm reads at a glance, so you can spot a quiet Tuesday or a slammed weekend before you even pick a day. The exact count still shows on the day you’ve got selected. The month calendar on your phone reads the same way.

Message a client with the right words for the moment
“Message client” now offers messages that fit where the session actually is — a “still holding the room?” when someone’s running late, an offer to extend near the end of a live session, a rebook after a no-show, a payment nudge with the amount once an invoice is out, a thank-you after. Each one comes prefilled with the real name, room and time, and you can now message a client after the session too, not just before. When you’ve got their number on file, Text is the main button — it opens your phone’s Messages app with it ready to send.

The agenda shows you what still needs billing
In the month list, every finished session now says where its money got to — a blue "To bill" while it's waiting, then a quiet "Invoiced" or "Waived" once it's handled — so a day that reads "2 to bill" up top actually has two billable rows, not five look-alikes. Days you've fully settled fold to a single line, and on a busy day the already-billed work tucks behind a "3 settled" line so what needs you stays on top. The old By day / Needs you toggle is gone; it's one list that just hides what's done.

See the room’s day before you approve a booking request
When a client asks for studio time, the review page now shows everything the yes-or-no needs in one place — who they are and whether they owe you, and their requested time drawn right on that room’s day, so a clash is obvious before you book. If the slot’s taken you can slide it to a free window the page suggests, or turn it down with a quick reason; once it’s booked, the handled list links straight to the session.

Drag your charges into the order you want
Every charge on a draft invoice now has a grip on the left — drag it to put the lines in whatever order tells the story best, instead of being stuck with oldest-session-first. The order you set is the order the client sees on the invoice and the PDF, and it sticks once you send.

Settings sorted by what you came to do
Payments is now only about how money reaches you — Stripe, the card fee, and your own payment details — with a line at the top telling you plainly whether a client can pay you at all. Everything about the paper moved to a new Invoice tab, where the preview is full size instead of a thumbnail. Hours picks up two settings that were missing: how long a new session starts out, and how long the engineer stays after.

A heads-up when an invoice has no way to be paid
If you send an invoice without Stripe connected and without payment instructions saved, the client gets a bill with nothing to act on. StudioSide now says so when you send, instead of a green checkmark that implies the money is on its way.

Move your studio to another country
The studio address search was limited to the country you were already in, so a US studio could never switch. It now searches worldwide, and your country follows whichever address you pick. The address suggestions no longer get cut off at the edge of the card, either.

Call a session whatever you call it
The session name at the top of the booking window is now typeable — tap one of the usual five (Recording, Mixing…) or write your own, like “Overdubs” or “Vocal comp”. A session booked without a client now goes by that name everywhere on the schedule instead of reading “Untitled”.

Clients can request their own sessions
Invite a client to a private portal from their profile, where they can request studio time — and see right away whether it fits your hours and the room is free. Requests land in a new Requests inbox for you to approve into a real booking or decline; nothing is auto-confirmed, and clients never see your schedule, gear, or other clients.

Choose how your invoice looks
Settings → Payments now has a “Your invoice” section where you pick your invoice style — Aria, a quiet whitespace-led look, or Ledger, a classic ruled grid — plus an optional accent color, with a live preview as you choose. Your pick carries everywhere the client sees it: the PDF, the pay page, and the preview before you send. Session charges also read cleaner now — a line just says “Recording session” instead of repeating the room name that already shows underneath.

Settings, reorganized around what it’s for
Settings is now split into a Studio side and a personal You side, so it’s clearer what belongs where. The old Rooms tab is now Pricing — your rooms, the services you sell, and your fallback rate all in one place. Where gear is stored moved to the Gear page (a “Storage” button up top), and the alerts that ping your team now live on the Team page instead of their own tab.

A blue dot for anything new
Invoices now reads like an inbox: a blue dot marks work that has shown up since you last looked — a session that just became ready to bill, an invoice sent, a payment that landed — and the Paid tab shows a count when money comes in. A dot clears once you open or act on that row, and you can mark a row unread or clear a whole section at once.

Client-ready invoice PDF + real receipts
The downloadable invoice is now a proper printable document — a clean layout with payment terms and where to send a check — and a paid one downloads as a genuine receipt. You can add a standing footer note (like a cancellation policy) in Settings → Payments, and a part-paid invoice now shows the deposit applied and the remaining balance.
