Payments

We make our money on the software, not on your money.

Your monthly plan is the only fixed cost. Card payments are billed at exactly what Stripe charges us — we add nothing. Bank transfer costs less than half that. Collect it yourself and there’s no fee at all.

Card

2.9% + 30¢

What Stripe charges, passed straight through. Every invoice gets a Pay button, the money lands in your bank in about two business days, and the invoice marks itself paid.

Bank transfer

1%

The same one-tap payment, on the cheaper rail — and never more than $100 however big the invoice is. Worth pointing your regulars at.

Collect it yourself

Free

Put your Zelle, bank, or cash details on the invoice and take the money however you like. No processing fee, no cut — mark it paid when it lands.

Questions

The honest stuff.

Why flat pricing and not per-seat or per-room?

Studios staff fluidly — engineers come and go, a runner today is an engineer next month, freelancers log in for one session. Charging per seat makes you hide the system from people who should be using it. Charging per room punishes you for growing capacity. One flat price per studio means you bring everyone in, run as many rooms as fit, and you always know what next month costs.

Is there more than one plan?

No — one plan, one price, and everything the product does today is in it. There used to be a Starter and a Pro, and the split was meant to be about staff: you paid more once other people were on the schedule. We took it down because the staff surfaces it was selling — the rota and the team timesheet — aren’t finished, and charging more for something you can’t open isn’t a tier, it’s a bill. When they land, they land for everyone already paying. What works today: booking and the calendar, the live floor, clients, gear, invoices and getting paid, unlimited rooms and seats and sessions. Clocking in and out works, reading your own hours works, and putting an engineer on a session works — that last one has never been held back.

What happens when I add a room?

Nothing changes on your bill. Rooms are unlimited on both tiers — add or remove them as your studio evolves, no upgrade flow, no surprise invoice.

Is there a free trial?

No free trial — StudioSide is paid from day one. We’re in private beta and onboarding studios in small batches, so it starts with a quick access request. Once you’re in, setup is self-serve — add your rooms and rates and you can be sending invoices the same day. No call, no setup fee.

Do I have to use Stripe?

No. Stripe is there if you want clients to pay by card or bank transfer in one tap — payouts land in your bank in a couple of days and the invoice marks itself paid. Prefer to keep it simple? Put your own details (Zelle, bank, cash) on the invoice, collect directly, and mark it paid — no cut, no processing fee, you keep every dollar.

Do you take a cut of the payments I collect?

Not on cards, no. Card payments cost 2.9% + 30¢ — that is exactly Stripe's published rate, and we pass it straight through rather than adding to it, so a card costs you the same here as anywhere else. Bank transfer is 1%, capped at $100, which is where we do make something — and it is still less than half what the same payment costs on a card, so you save money by pointing clients at it. Collect outside StudioSide and there's no fee at all. Your monthly plan is the only fixed charge.

Does the fee get added to what my client pays?

No. Your client pays the invoice total, exactly as written — StudioSide never adds a surcharge at checkout. The fee comes out of the payment before it reaches you, so you can stop hand-adding a processing line to invoices and guessing at the number. Every payment shows you what was taken and what you netted.

What if we have multiple locations?

Email us with how many studios you run and we’ll sort out one plan that covers them. Just an email — no call required.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You own it. Ask us for an export anytime, and if you cancel we hand you everything and delete what’s left.

Stop running your studio out of texts and spreadsheets.
